Church Council approved the 2012 Budget in their December 12, 2011 meeting. Because of a significant increase in our Insurance Premium and our Apportionments, this budget is about $10,000 higher (2.08% higher) than our 2011 Budget. The total amount of our 2012 Budget is $512,598, including $116,076 in normal monthly mortgage payments. This Budget was approved with the caveat that it will be revisited at least quarterly, and priority spending determined at that time, if necessary.

The budget document (available for download on this page) is an annual Summary Budget, showing only those line items that have been funded for 2012. Designated Special Funds are not included as budget items, since they are typically paid out as donations are received. Treasurer’s Report - The current Treasurer’s Report, also available for download on this page, shows our Year-to-Date Giving, as well as our Year-to-date General Fund and Mortgage expenses. The current Treasurer’s Report reflects all of the transactions through the end of the prior month, and all of our financial activity year-to-date. We will continue to work to fund the budgeted ministries and missions of Ocean View, and to assure that our obligations and bills are all paid on time and in full. With God’s help, we can achieve this goal..

Financial Stability - In 2010 and 2011, we took measures to assure a level of financial stability at Ocean View UMC. Our 2012 budgeting and planning continues this objective. During 2011, our Giving as a church totaled about $492,000, about $10,000 short of our budget. In 2010, our Giving was $405,282 (plus the mortgage payments, which were budgeted at about $113,000 for that year). With an increase in our 2012 budget, we are prayerful that our church will continue to grow, and that our tithes and offerings will also increase.

We pray that God will continue to bless Ocean View UMC, so that we might become an even bigger blessing to others and to our community.
