Summertime . . . and the livin' is . . . ok, it's whatever it is!

As I write this, summer for school kids and teachers in most of Brunswick County is already more than half over! There is still plenty of time to re-discover the fact that Oak Island is attatched to an ocean . . . no, really!

Amazing, but true! For those of us blessed to live here year-round, it is actually possible (barring hurricanes!) to live and stay busy and forget that we actually live on an island with one of God's best parts of creation right beside us!

For those of you who know me, yes, the ocean is actually different in summer than in winter! For one thing, the warmer water means sharing the beach and ocean with other human beings! Still, the early morning hours are great for that meditative time with God, with porpoise(s), jumping mullet, small "fry", and now, yes, my favorite purple jellyfish (wanna see my scar from last September?)!

Please, folks, take the time to get out into God's creation wherever you are after you read this on our website! God is just waiting to meet you in solitude and silence, and will speak volumes to you through His creatures and His handiwork in nature.

It has been said that God is always up to something, and that it is best for us to listen and look and figure out just what that "thing" is . . . and then join with God in it! That, my friends, is where the joy is!
